South Central Family Health Center (SCFHC), a nonprofit community health clinic serving the uninsured and underserved for more than 40 years, seeks to hire Full-Time bilingual Registered Dental Assistants (RDA) or Unlicensed Dental Assistants (DA) for its dental clinics. SCFHC is a comprehensive dental department with general dentistry and dental specialists. Looking for hard-working individuals and team players to provide excellent customer service, serve the South Central Los Angeles community, and join a compassionate group of mission-minded dental assistants and dentists. SCFHC has locations in South Central Los Angeles and Huntington Park. SCFHC Dental is an education-oriented patient care clinic with partnership with the UCLA School of Dentistry.

FUNCTIONS: Provide direct and indirect support to the Dentist in dental care delivery to a culturally diverse population.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist’s access; expose radiographs; pouring impressions and stone casts; educate patient on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions; and enter data into EHR system; Provide chair-side assistance with a variety of dental specialties; Explain treatment plans and translate for dentists; RDAs make temporary crowns and perform coronal polishing.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a formal Dental Assistant program; CPR/BLS certification. Must have excellent communication skills and be detailed oriented. NextGen electronic health record system knowledge, a plus. Must be bilingual/bi-literate English/Spanish.
