Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC is seeking dedicated and skilled Dental Assistants to join our dynamic team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative and comprehensive chair-side assisting services to patients undergoing dental treatment procedures. This position involves working closely with clinical faculty, doctoral dental students, and post-doctoral students in clinical unit(s) and affiliated practices. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare treatment/clinical areas for patient care, ensuring they are clean, organized, and fully equipped for dental procedures.
Organize and prepare trays, set up dental instruments, and maintain optimal supply levels in each operatory.
Assist in prepping patients for dental procedures, including obtaining vital signs and monitoring patients for complications.
Assist dental professionals during procedures by preparing and mixing materials as required.
Maintain a clean and orderly clinic environment by disposing of waste, disinfecting areas after each patient, and setting up for the next patient following established procedures.
Maintain inventory of disposable materials, medications, dental instruments, and equipment in dental operatories, as well as those necessary for daily operation.
Organize supplies and equipment to minimize loss and ensure efficient utilization.
Perform regular audits to identify and remove expired materials, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and equipment according to established procedures.
Must Haves:

Completion of a recognized dental assistant certification program.
Three months to one year of chair-side experience in a dental environment or private practice in at least one recognized dental discipline (e.g., general/prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics).
Preferred Qualifications:

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and best practices.
Proficiency in dental software and computer applications.
